Wheel repair can be an easy fix, unfortunately, you have to disassemble
the front end to repair it.
1.) Disassemble the swing arm assembly using the steps outlined in the swing axle repair instructions elsewhere
on the AMT TURNPIKE site.
2.) Check steering arm for bends or kinks and straighten out using a small hammer and/or pliers and the working surface
of your vise or some other hard surface. The hole that secures the wheel spindle assembly may have "opened up"
allowing the wheel spindle assembly to fall off maybe during an accident. you must close this hole somewhat.
3.) Once you are satisfied that the steering arm is straight. Press attaching end of the wheel spindle assembly
through the hole in the steering arm. (this should go on with hand pressure and may snap in)
4.) Take the wheel /spindle/steering arm complete assembly and place it on the working surface of your vise
or some other hard surface) with the front of the wheel (hub side) resting on the working surface. Using a steel
punch and hammer on the attaching pin, give the end of the pin a good couple of raps, this should spread
out the connecting pin slightly over the surface of the steering arm and secure the wheel spindle assembly.
5.) Check for free wheel movement and that the wheel is now secured.
Once satisfied, replace wheel spindle using the steps spelled out in the "swing axle repair" article
