Welcome to the site. There are several things it could be from the steering actuator to the controller and anywhere in between. There is the original AMT service Manual on the website (link: http://www.amtmodelturnpike.com/AMT_Service_Manual.htm ) The images should print on letter size paper or you can save the pictures on your computer. I hope to have pdfs up there soon. If you end up needing a part, I'll try to help you with it. I copied Bill on the reply in case he has any ideas I missed. I am thinking it is in the car but I would try some things in this order: 1) Did you try the car on both sides of the track. If you did, and it still does not steer on one side, it eliminates the pickup shoe, controller and wiring harnesses as the problem and isolates it in the car. If the car works on the other side, I'd look at the controller next. One side of the steering Rheostat could be bad. If you determine that it might be the controller, check the steering slider to be sure that it is wiping the rheostat on both sides. The rheostat could be dislodged. 2) If it is the car, and you have a continuity tester, try testing each wire leg on the swing arm. If these check out, it is likely the steering actuator, which will have to be replaced. I hope that this helps. Let me know how it goes
