I used fine sandpaper and wiped them with hand sanitizing wipes. I also tried emery finger nail files, first coarse and then fine. I also used a fine snad paper sponge. I finally cleaned them with a paper towel sprayed with WD40 to stop them from rusting again. It takes quite a bit of patients. I hope this helps.
