About This Site

Welcome to the site.  I do not profess to be an expert on AMT Model Turnpike.  My first experience was finding a Pontiac in an old hobby shop in the early 1980s and was fascinated as I had never seen one before.  I had many t-jets but this was totally alien to me.  I eventually acquired a set a few years later, then a few more with different cars but still didn't know anyone who had ever heard of them.  The Internet finally came along and gave me a way to find others with the same interest.  Bob Moore, who is is the expert on AMT, has dropped his site and the Yahoo! group seems to be just a haven for spammers anymore so I thought it might be useful to try my hand at a new site for the few of us left who love AMT Turnpike.

Our intentions for this site are to provide a place for enthusiasts of this obscure branch of the slot-car hobby to share information, find sources for parts and possibly all hook-up and race one day.  We all have some knowledge and if we can each share what we have found here

One of the biggest problems with AMT Model Turnpike is the lack of parts availability.  If you are interested in reproducing part(s) or can track down suitable replacement parts, all of us would be grateful.  We are not selling anything here but would gladly provide you with a link to your site or your ebay page if you are selling suitable, good quality parts.

We have a rudimentary discussion board for questions, a page with help articles and original AMT literature and a page with sources of parts, both original and racing, as we can find them.  If you have a suggestion for a new page or an improvement, we are all ears.  We do not have the ability to post pictures on the discussion forum yet so please e-mail them to us and we will post them and show a link.

If you want to contact us via e-mail, please send to Leonard or Bill.

Thanks,

Leonard
