Motors
The original motor used by AMT was the Mabuchi #35R, which is molded in to the white plastic cover on the pulley end of the motor. These motors, as well as parts are very scarce so we are always searching for ways to keep these motors running. So far, the other motors which might be useable for parts are:
#15R: Number 15R may or may not have useable parts. If the case diameter and commutator diameter are the same as the 35R then the brushes may work. Does anyone know?
#35: Number 35 appears to be a shorter version of 35R and might be useable for the brushes.
#45: Number 45 seems to be a shorter version of the #35R. We have acquired two of these for testing. #45 is larger in diameter but shorter than the standard motor. I will be testing this one soon to see if it is a suitable replacement for the #35R. It has the same shaft diameter do the pulley should fit.
#59: Number 59 appears to be the same can size as #35R, with a similar brush assembly. We don't know if the armature can be used by trimming the shaft. The bearing on the end of the housing is a bit smaller. Stay tuned.
